Ames Indoor Air Quality

How clean is the air you breathe every day?  According to EPA research, the air inside a home may be 2-5 times (and occasionally more than 100 times) more polluted than the air outside. The topic of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is generating more and more national and local attention as studies begin to show the extent to which it affects our daily lives.  IAQ has been demonstrated to affect work productivity, student achievement, and absenteeism in both work and school settings. As Bryant-certified Healthy Air Specialists, we can help you improve the quality of air in your home, reducing allergens and airborne illness and their negative effects on your family.

Filters are your primary tool for improving indoor air quality and ensuring your HVAC system’s longevity.  We offer a range of filters to suit the needs of your home.

  • 1” Dynamic Air Cleaner
  • 2-4” Pleated Filters

Air Knight reflective electro magnetic energy (REME)

The Air Knight REME is a great way to increase the effectiveness of your filtration system.  REME technology charges the air, causing particles to cling together, making them easier to capture.

Experience the benefits of the Air Knight REME:

  • Reduction of pollen, animal dander, and other allergens
  • Reduction of H1N1 Virus, Norwalk virus & MRSA bacteria
  • More than 70% reduction in odors
  • Enhanced filtration

Humidifiers offer multiple benefits.  Not only do they increase comfort by relieving the nasal congestion, eye and skin irritation, wheezing and sneezing caused by pollutants that thrive in excessively dry air, but they also can reduce static electricity, reduce heating costs, and protect paint and woodwork throughout the home.

We offer humidifiers in two styles:

  • Bypass
    • Uses condensation from system
  • Steam
    • Up to 70% more efficient
    • Cleanest form of humidification

A dehumidifier controls excess humidity in home, making the living space more comfortable, especially during hot and humid times.  Excess humidity in the air decreases the effectiveness of the body’s natural cooling system.  Removing some of the moisture from the air allows us to feel more comfortable at higher temperatures.  Our dehumidifiers can remove up to 135 pints of water per day from your home, not only keeping you comfortable, but also protecting your house by reducing mold and mildew.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors

Keep your family protected against carbon monoxide poisoning with a CO detector.  Our detectors have an 8-year life, rechargeable lithium or ion battery, and three mounting options:  tabletop, direct, or 6 ft. power cord.

Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV)

Heat recovery ventilators are designed for today’s more energy-efficient, tightly built homes.  A well sealed home conserves energy but often lacks adequate ventilation.  Insufficient air exchange in a home can lead to a variety of problems, including trapped pollutants such as carbon monoxide from appliances, dust and other allergens, excessive moisture and resultant mold and mildew.  An HRV pulls fresh air into the home.  When the outdoor air is cooler, the unit transfers the heat from the stale, indoor air being expelled to the fresh air coming in.

Duct Cleaning

Cyclone offers professional air pressure duct cleaning.  We recommend cleaning your ducts every 3-5 years, depending on the level of pollutants in your home.  According to the EPA, you should consider having your ducts cleaned if there is evidence of mold or mildew in the ducts, if they have been infested with vermin, or if excessive amounts of dust and debris have collected in them. Not only will duct cleaning minimize the circulation of these and other pollutants, clean ducts also facilitate efficient airflow, saving energy and utility costs.
